Historical context
Cold War satire remained available for new conflicts
Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove supplied later political culture with a durable shorthand for nuclear absurdity, command systems and catastrophic escalation. Online commentary in the early 2000s repeatedly repurposed familiar film language because a short allusion could carry context across audiences.
